Tomorrow's the day the results of the Royal Show cooking competitions are announced. In all the excitement of cooking, selecting and packing up my entries, I forgot to take photos.
I headed out to the Showgrounds last Sunday morning and never have I driven so carefully or slowly. I think I even took more care than the first time I drove with a baby in the car.
Wish me (and Hoppo Bumpo, my scone making rival) luck!
In other unphotographed adventures, I happened to walk past the Embroiderer's Guild Annual Exhibition today and popped in to admire the work of those with much more patience than I. Unfortunately, despite my most winning smile, they wouldn't let me take photos, not even when I explained that it was for a blog and full attribution would be given. Officious lot, those embroiderers.
Embroidery House (yes, it really is called that!) is a lovely, large Victorian building in Malvern. It would seem they've "stitched up" the property market. Ho, ho. I amuse myself, if no one else.
I couldn't let the post go completely without photos, and any excuse to include the cat will do.
Update: The Royal Show judges clearly don't know good stuff when they see it. Both Liesl and I missed out. If I were more gracious I'd say cooking was the winner. If.
we got the house!

Oh purrrrs. Gosh, no photos, clearly their work is in line with the Mona Lisa!! I could do it for you, hell, i managed to take video of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, much to my husband's horror!! He's such a goodie goodie. Love Posie
Guess who also frogged their little french cardi?
But not to be deterred, I've started again.
The results are up early, my dear - check out the website. Scones, shmones. Hmmph. Mutter, mutter.
I'm still having a laugh (I think) that in one of the sewing categories I entered ... where there were only 3 entrants ... that only one person got a prize. Take that the rest of us!
Yours (clearly most ungracious) in defeat.
L xx
I'm spewin'. I so wanted you guys to win. I absolutely love that you entered!
Boo...but in consolation, that is a FABULOUS cat pic. :)

Bugger about that but you and Liesl should take comfort from the fact that there was a big hoo-ha here last Summer about scone results. At her local ag. show a woman was awarded second prize for her entry, the problem was she was the only one in her class!
Oh bugger bum poo! I was sure you and Liesl would scoop the prizes!
