The boys are both avid readers, and as one myself it gladdens my heart no end to know the lifetime of bookish pleasure that awaits them.
Conor's one of those readers who has about four books on the go at once and dips in and out of each according to mood. He's recently taking to reading in treetops, which probably explains the lack of figs, unlike this time last year when it was covered.

Ethan as I type is sitting on the couch reading Horrid Henry. Now, I know at five he's probably not understanding all of it, but if he wants do to it, then who am I to stand in the way? *
They've had bookmarks in the past, but they invariably fall out, or are pulled out by a vengeful sibling as the ultimate war tactic.
As I've mentioned before, Ms
Curly Pops has helped me out with a lot of Christmas shopping this year so it was only natural that I turn to her to find a workable bookmark.
Literally only three hours after sending the email, Cam had sent through photos of the prototype, with the finished products (all five of them as there are fellow book loving kiddies on the Christmas list) arriving only two days later.

In retrospect, I should have chosen a different book to display my boys' Christmas gifts.
See the little press studs at the bottom? These allow the bookmark to be done up around the book and its even adjustable to allow for differing thicknesses. Brilliant, Cam. Just Brilliant!
* In the interests of a balanced post and so that I don't come across as one of *those* blogging Mums - the hand that is not holding the book is firmly inserted up one nostril and he's not wearing any pants.

those book marks are great - what a good idea -
Don't you think 'We need to talk about Kevin" is a suitable book for a 5 year old?
Thanks so much for giving me the bookmark idea! Everyone I know is getting a bookmark for christmas whether they read or not..he he he.
Love the photo of Conor reading in a tree!
As they say always let sleeping dogs lie .... or pantless, finger-up-the-nose boys, read! That's great that he loves reading stuff like that at just 5!
Like Ms CurlyPops bookmarks too. Great innovation.
Hilarious book choice to display the bookmarks! (which are fabulous by the way)
I adore those book marks.
I adore that photo of your boy even more. Finger up nostril, pantless and all.

Love a good bookmark. How clever those bookmarks are...
I love them too, what a fabulous idea and so much more stylish than the packet of aspirins I'm using.
