the kindness of bloggers

A little while back I mentioned the difficulty I had been having winding 200g skeins into balls. It can be tricky at the best of times, but I had the added difficulty factor of two "helpful" boys and a cat who thought all of his Christmases had come at once.

Out of the blue, a kind and generous angel all the way from Sweden (is there any point on the globe further from Melbourne than Sweden?) sent me this yarn reel to help me out.

I should point out that to my knowledge Trude had never visited my blog before, nor I hers, so her offer to hunt down something that was residing some 50 klm from her home, figure out how to post it and then actually do it, really blew me away.

In these days of senseless violence and random acts of selfishness, that she would do this for me restores my faith in humankind. Really, it does.

Thank you Trude, you have give me much more than something with which to wind yarn (although that in itself is pretty awesome!).

I'm blushing... Thank you all!
It's nice to see the yarn reel being used by someone who can't call the local yarn store and order one. I'm a weaver, not a knitter so it made sense to me to give it away.
